The May 2012 Arts Trail is now finished. Thank you to the many people who visited us. The post which follows refers to the run-up to the Trail.
The pottery studio will be open to the public. The adjoining workshop has been cleared out, the walls have had a slap of paint, and a pale blue tarpaulin slung below the roof to hide all the junk up there. Even the floor has been spruced up. I baulked at the cost of proper floor paint, so I just used cheap fence paint and it seems to have worked extremely well. The summerhouse has been tidied and re-painted inside, the grass and hedges are cut, the weeds pulled out of the drive. What could possibly go wrong now? Well, the weather, for a start.
There will be free refreshments in the garden (charitable donations to The Rowans Hospice invited), Karen’s knitwear and weaving in the summer-house, and an exhibition of Ben’s photography from his expeditions and adventures ranging from Mongolia, the Himalayas and Patagonia to more prosaic locations.Click here for a preview.
We look forward to meeting you, whether you are coming to buy a pot, to poke about, or just to be curious and to say ‘hello’.
There is parking in the driveway for about 3 cars, or in a layby up or down the road. To view the Arts Trail brochure and get more detail, click here.
